Coming Soon …

January 12, 2008

I have heard Phillip’s repeated cries for a change to my blog. And for that matter my getting back to blogging regularly. So therefore, you may be seeing several changes to my blog in the next few days as I try to update it and make it more visually appealing.

Bear with me, and hopefully there will be something better soon. If not, well you have Phillip to blame for it then. Peace.

Happy Thanksgiving!

November 22, 2007

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Take time to reflect on all that have, and have been given, and can count as blessing. Give God praise for those things. They all come from Him.

So enjoy the family, food, and football!

And I plan to be back very soon blogging again regularly.

Happy Turkey Day. Peace!

From My Journal (11.01.07)

November 1, 2007

Why do we allow hypocrisy in the church to detract us from God? The Bible does not come claiming a perfect church or perfect believers around us. It comes claiming a perfect God and a perfect Savior. How do we allow others to minimize that fact? That is absurd. That essentially emanates a belief that God cannot rise above the injustices that we as Christians commit. My God can rise above anything, and I choose to follow Him no matter how others may misrepresent Him or their faith.

… to Justin and Nicole Wallace.

Justin announced Tuesday night at Impact that Nicole is pregnant with their first child.

Here’s to hoping for a healthy pregnancy, a wonderful child, and all the excitement that this experience brings. We’re all looking forward to this addition to the Impact family.

In continued prayerful support,

James

Simply Amazing

October 18, 2007

Last night was an awesome night at Impact. For the first time in our ministry’s history, we conducted student baptisms. We were collectively able to witness the symbolic rebirth and cleansing of 14 students. 14 students that brought the teachings of Jesus to life. Effectively dying to themselves and being reborn to Christ.

Our ministry meets at 8:30pm Tuesday nights. The invitation was given during the message to anyone who wanted to participate in baptism. We concluded near 11:00pm. We quickly tore down, packed up, and headed out to an apartment complex up the road from the university. At midnight, nearly 50 students came together for one purpose: watching 14 students be dunked in a cold, apartment pool for only a few seconds.

But the results: a difference for a lifetime.

Struggling Forward

October 15, 2007

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

Galatians 6:9-10

God has called us to a fight. Doing the things to see the endurance of the church will be difficult and cause tiredness and the desire to give in. We must continue on though. If we continue in God’s will and purpose, He will supply for us a harvest and we will be able to reap the benefits of that harvest. We will see the good of the work we have endured.

In the same token, we are asked to do good to ALL people. Those who have loved us AND those who have persecuted us, those who have ministered to us AND those who have undermined us, those who have cried with us AND those who have abandoned us. We are called to love and serve all these people during this time. It is also pointed out that it is most important for those brothers and sisters in Christ. We are in one spirit and to be acting as such. In Christ, we are to be reaching all nations (communities, counties, states, regions, and beyond) and bringing them back to Him. We can not adequately do this divided. We must move in unity. The body must work as one.

Do not become weary. God will provide.
